Muskoka Shield Jr A Hockey Club Integrates Elite Hockey Academy To Build High-Performance Development Program.
Shield President Troy Kahler announced that his elite hockey development company, Academy of Hockey Canada – (AHC) would be partnering with the Shield and integrating and additional :
– 88 hours of On-Ice Skill Development (Elite Power Skating – Level I, II, III)
– 126 hours of Off-Ice Training (Strength & Conditioning, Spinning, Yoga, Mindset Coaching)
“No Junior ‘A’ Hockey team in the province, or NHL team for that matter, is reinvesting in tools and applications like ‘Oura Rings’ to ensure the mental health and readiness of players, which in turn, puts them on a much better track for advancement and our team success,” said the 43 year old former Professional Player and Coach. “We have a few other trade secrets up our sleeves with The Academy, but our dedication to making our program affordable and providing exponential high performance value to the players is what sets us apart from any team.”
Kahler is referring to the typical Junior Hockey Programs across Canada that provide:
– (2) 1-2 hour team practices
– (2) 1-3 hour fitness and conditioning sessions
It’s obvious that the program is will gain traction quick, the organization firmly believes that this will also bring players back to Muskoka to train and possibly remain in the area rather than moving away from hockey to pursue their hockey careers. “Helping develop local talent is the mission now for Academy of Hockey Canada,” Kahler ended with.
