Frank Demasi

The Toronto native enters his 6th season with the Shield. Frank was the Head Coach  for the team from (2014-2018) amassing a coaching record of 111 – 45 – 12. Frank had been promoted to Team President for the 2018-19 season & will be back behind the bench this season!  Prior to his coaching days, Frank's professional hockey resume spanned 8 seasons in Europe. In 8 seasons of Professional hockey Frank won 6 Championships, and 3 league scoring titles, to go along with 2 Team MVP awards.  Before joining the Professional ranks, Frank attended Lake Forest College in Illinois where he played 4 seasons of hockey in the NCAA.  Frank’s experience, relationships, and contacts in college hockey in the USA and  with Professional teams in Europe play a huge part in giving our club an edge over others in the league to advancing players to these levels. Frank, his wife Megan and their children Arthur, Joe, & Sophie make Muskoka their home.

Assistant Coach


Brent Baker

Brent is entering his first season as an Assistant Coach with the Shield.  Brent brings a wealth of hockey knowledge & experience to our club as he has coached many levels of hockey here in the Muskoka Minor Hockey System.  We are excited for the upcoming season as Brent will bring a new perspective to our Organization on and off the ice. Brent and his family call Bracebridge, Muskoka home.


Assistant General Manager


Johan Eriksson

  Johan is entering his first season with the Shield & will play a major role in helping to shape our team through the entry draft and recruitment.   Johan was born in Karlstad, Sweden and moved to Canada in 2017.  Along with his responsibiities here with the Shield, Johan also scouts for pro teams in Sweden's Division 1 & 2 levels as well as the top league, the SHL.  Johan's knowledge of European hockey as well as his various contacts throughout Sweden and Europe are a great asset to our club & will no doubt help our graduating players advance to pro teams in Sweden, especially those scouted by Johan.  Johan's passion for hockey is as strong as anyone's & we are excited to have Johan on board today and for years to come.  Johan and his wife Erika call Hamilton, Ontario home. 

Strength & Conditioning Coach


Andrew Urban

Andrew comes to us with experience in many different sports. Hailing from Poland, Andrew graduated with a Masters Degree from the Academy of Physical Education in Warsaw. Upon moving to Muskoka Andrew began his strength & conditioning program for residents and athletes in the area including NHL players during the summer months. Andrew has trained Olympic & NCAA athletes of various sports including hockey, cycling, fencing, MMA, soccer & many more. The overall fitness of the mind and body is the ultimate aim of Andrew's fitness sessions. Through isometric exercises, Andrew can strengthen the body in areas that need it most. Andrew also practices massage therapy and aroma therapy! Andrew and his wife Hannah make Bracebridge their home.   

Equipment Manager


Ryan Morgan

Ryan has a wealth of experience as an equipment manager.  Ryan grew up & played his minor hockey in Muskoka and we are happy that he is continuing to be involved in the hockey community as a member of our hockey club. This will be Ryan's second season with our team. 



George Becker

George enters his 11th season as the trainer for our hockey club. George ensures all our players are treated properly for any injuries they may incur. George holds his St. John Ambulance First Aid degree. George and his wife Angie make Muskoka home.
